Do I Qualify?

To be eligible for our plans, you must reside in our service area. Our service area includes Washington, DC, and the following Maryland counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Charles, Howard, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s.

MedStar Medicare Choice (HMO)

You may enroll in the MedStar Medicare Choice (HMO) plan only during specific times of year. Select the Enrollment Timelines tab to learn more. Contact us for more information.

To be eligible for the MedStar Medicare Choice Medicare Advantage plan, you must

  • Reside in the MedStar Medicare Choice service area
  • Have Medicare Part A and be enrolled in Medicare Part B
  • Continue to pay your Medicare Part A or B premiums, as applicable
  • Not have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)

Medicare beneficiaries may also enroll in MedStar Medicare Choice through the CMS Medicare Online Enrollment Center located at Medicare.gov.

MedStar Medicare Choice Dual Advantage (HMO SNP)

This plan is available to anyone who has both Medical Assistance from the State and Medicare. Enrollment in MedStar Medicare Choice Dual Advantage depends on contract renewal. To qualify for MedStar Medicare Choice Dual Advantage you must

  • Have Medicare Part A and be enrolled in Medicare Part B
  • Have Medicaid coverage at time of enrollment
  • Reside in the service area
  • Not have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
  • Continue to pay your Part A or Part B premiums, as applicable

MedStar Medicare Choice Care Advantage (HMO SNP), a Chronic Special Needs Plan (CSNP)

This plan is available to anyone who has Original Medicare (Parts A and B) and also has diabetes and/or chronic heart failure.

To qualify for MedStar Medicare Choice Care Advantage you must

  • Be eligible for Medicare Part A and be enrolled in Medicare Part B
  • Reside in the service area
  • Not have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
  • Be diagnosed with chronic heart failure and/or diabetes

Medicare beneficiaries may also enroll in MedStar Medicare Choice through the CMS Medicare Online Enrollment Center located at Medicare.gov.
